when we have trade off it is for a reason. WE DO NOT WANT TO TRADE!!!!
it amazes me how people cannot get a very simple concept through their thick skulls.
i am all for banning repeat offenders. it is really very simple and has to be put into simple terms for the folks out there who flat out refuse to do things the right way.
ifyou do not follow the rules and make up your own you should be banned. there should be no room for debate on the subject. there are a million players who want to enjoy their game, if they wanted to trade they would have their trde chat on.
ban the abusers maybe they will learn a lesson.
(but most likely will just whine on how unfair it is that they were banned.)

I think some of those guys don't even realize there is a trade channel.
I will sometimes point out that sellers and buyers might have better luck using the trade channel, after which things quiet down a little in the general channel.
There are a lot of mentally dimunitive people playing this game. They need a little help to push them in the right direction.

Now now, no need to insult. Last thing I heard, the only thing most people could agree on is that people are stupid. There really aren't any exceptions. =-}

If the damned ignore feature worked, that would help a small amount. I haven't logged in in over a week, but the last time I put someone on the ignore list, I could still see their chat in the general chat channel. If I /ignore someone, I don't want to see their text EVER in ANY channel. Hopefully they will one day have something important to say and no one will hear them because everyone /ignored them, the bastards.

Where does it say that anyone has the god-given right to trade?
If only there were merchants, or even a special channel where people could buy and sell their stuff.... oh, wait a second.
If there were a merchant of some kind where I could "purchase" a group, you would never see me "lfg" anywhere, anytime, on any channel. Then I'd only have to keep team and guild chat on.

The addition of an Item Trader/Upgrade Trader will solve the problem. Personally I am thrilled that ANet is taking the positive additions approach to solving problems rather than the defensive approach (i.e. with the chest botters in Seekers, don't remove the chest, just add more mobs between city and chest).
With the trader additions almost all weapon sale spam will go away. This will solve the need to have an ongoing support issue of reading all of the /reports and banning players which does nothing but upset your customer base (both having to file a /report and by the person being banned/warned).

well i just had to erstart this topic lol. when i originally posted it it seemd as if most of the problem came in the bigger cities along they way.
i have recently discovered that this very very annoying habit of people posting trade in local chat has permeated through the eintore game now.
last night in Hell's precepice (sp?) there were maybe 20 people total in town waiting to find a group and there were no less than 5 people trying to trade in loacl chat just spamming away with their crap. when i politely asked them to stop and use trade chat all i got was "no one looks at trade chat.so i will post where i choose"
of course i answered that if no one is looking at trade chat they just might be giving you the hint that THEY DO NOT WANT TO TRADE!!!!
after thinking for a while this one guy says back to me "if you do not like it then turn off local chat" at that point i just put the guy on ignore because if he was either too stupid or self centered to know that loacal chat is realy the only way to get a group i had nothing more to say to him.
i am seriously starting to think that severe penalties must be implemented to stop this nonsense from happening.

What an ASS, haha. You're trying to make a group in the last mission town of the game, and some jerk off is spamming trade.
This happens in every single city. Everyones argument with lions arch is dead, spamming useless trade crap in mission towns is a real problem.

I see people spamming the Local channel with WTS, and WTB, but I also see people spamming the Trade Channel with LFG. This needs to be stopped before there are two channels that are everything.

it is utterly rediculous, and the problem is only getting worse by the day as thre is no penalty for doing it.
Anet must implement something to try and curb this rampant abuse of the chat system. I do not know exactly what but there are much better minds than mine out there that can come up with something i am sure

I don't know if this was brought up (I didn't real all the posts...shh.), but it may help for you to look for groups in districts other than 1, 2 or 3. Not that I advocate the use of the all channel for trade, but you have to realize that the 1st 3 districts of both Lion's and Ascalon have been, are, and prob will be continued to be used as major trade hubs due to the horrible trading system that this game has.
Instead of trying to contact Anet to whine about trade in the all channel- write them asking for a better trade system. Honestly, that's the only plausible soloution in my opinion. Asking people to stop doing it is a losing battle.
I for one don't go to the districs I know I have no chance of a LFG post being seen, and trust me, alot of people know this as well. So, try going to Dis 5 for that Villainy group you're looking for.

Maybe you should have read just a little bit of the thread before posting?

i say, if they are gonna spam trade in the all channel, why not just chat in the trade channel. look for groups in the trade channel, cuz the pretty colors will surely attract the groups.
joking aside though, maybe they should make a group channel where you can post LFG/LFP etc...

Adding new channels really won't fix anything, thats what the trade channel was supposed to do. If there is no rules then how can there be any adhering to the rules? The current channel system relies on self-policing, which generally (and unfortunately) doesn't work very well

Ok... let's just FLAME someone for the use of a particular word and completely IGNORE the content of his message. Perhaps if you would read what he said it would make a little bit more sense. Here, let me spell it out for you: Instead of bitching about it why not try to find a permanent solution.
Yes yes, I know trade spam in outposts is a problem, etc etc etc, but sitting here and being a jackass to those that are actually on your side is not the way to fix things. And the funny thing is you've been a jackass all through this thread.

I am going to write this again.
the EULA we all signed states that there will be no spamming. any use of a chat channel for anything other than it's intended purpose it SPAMMING.
therefore it is a violation of the EULA and a bannable affense.
i hope that makes it clear to you now
( i hate having to state the obvious all the time)
